Common questions about Alpha-5 and how it works with Foundry VTT
Common questions
Alpha-5 requires Send Messages, Embed Links, Use Slash Commands, and Add Reactions. It cannot read private messages or access anything outside the channels it is invited to.
Alpha-5 logs into Foundry on your behalf to perform actions. The GM password is used to create player accounts and activate scenes. The server admin password is used to switch worlds. Without these, the bot cannot automate those operations.
Create a scene in your Foundry world named exactly Home (case-sensitive). When /unpause-world is run by a server administrator, Alpha-5 activates that scene and unpauses the game. Requires the Professional plan.
Alpha-5 runs on our servers, so there are no local system requirements. You need:
A Discord server where you have administrator permissions
A running Foundry VTT instance (self-hosted or cloud-hosted)
An internet connection
Tested on Foundry VTT v13 and v14. Earlier versions are no longer supported. We will update this as compatibility is confirmed.
Alpha-5 is tested on self-hosted instances. We expect it to work with third-party hosting (The Forge, Molten Hosting, etc.) but have not verified every provider. We are offering one month free to the first person who confirms compatibility with their host, and will document the result.
Credentials are encrypted at rest and only used when you trigger an action. Alpha-5 does not store game content and does not access your server outside of requested operations.
New subscriptions include a 7-day money-back guarantee. Contact support within the first week and we will issue a full refund. After 7 days, you can cancel at any time and retain access until the end of the billing period.
Go to your server dashboard and open the "Subscription and Features" section. Your current plan and available upgrades are listed there.
Go to your profile page and use the account deletion button. This permanently removes all your data - server details, credentials, and usage history. It cannot be undone.
Each Discord server links to one Foundry world. To manage multiple Foundry servers, use a separate Discord server for each. You can subscribe per Discord server and manage all of them from a single dashboard.
No. Alpha-5 is automation, not AI. It runs scripted operations against your Foundry server in response to Discord commands. No models, no inference.
Patreon & billing
Yes. Captain patrons ($25/mo on Patreon) receive full Premium at no extra cost. Link Discord on Patreon and sign into Alpha-5 with the same account for automatic activation, or use your access key from the FutureHax catalog.
Open your profile page after signing in with Discord. If Patreon has your Discord linked, Premium activates on its own. If not, sign into the FutureHax catalog with Patreon, copy your access key, and paste it on your profile.
Premium access is tied to your active Captain membership. If your pledge drops below Captain or is cancelled, Premium is removed on the next entitlement check (within 24 hours of your last dashboard visit).
